Papercraft gift handbags

A little different paper crafting today.  I made these cute little handbags, for table gifts.  They could include a tea light candle, chocolate or small gift.  Just a 6” square of paper for the bag section. 💕

Love the colours in this one, with a little pink ribbon necklace as a gift

First one I made, with a decorated tea light candle.

I have finished four of these handbags and need to make another 8 for our Pink Ribbon table gifts. Like everything, deciding what paper to use, takes the longest time....

Link to the tutorial I followed, can be found here

Hope you have had a great weekend

Centre Step Cards

I was experimenting with a centre step card last week and was extremely happy with the result.  I followed a tutorial on YouTube but unfortunately I cannot find the link (I will update the post if I can find it to give credit where it is due)

UPDATE:  This is the link to make the step card -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAyFwBQh8-g

The instructions were to use a pre-folded card base and Kaisercraft collectibles pack, and boy was it easy.

This was my first card, pretty pinks

The second card was in blues and gave a different effect altogether

Both these cards are being donated to the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer fund raising.  The group of ladies that I craft with usually make about 50 cards for the committee to sell.  It is a great opportunity to help a good cause and try many new card ideas.

I can imagine Christmas cards, birthday cards etc using this technique.

Happy crafting

Small Finishes

Just a couple of small finishes to show you this week.

Little felt gingerbread christmas ornaments finished -  these were the two I had to finish off last week

All three - they are so sweet

Panda card holder keyring and wallet - completed

Soft warm polar fleece hat made for my sister

And a sneak peek of what I have also started -
Christmas & Breast Cancer gifts

Now all I need is time to complete them .. I did not forget to show you the owl that I started a couple of weeks ago, I have just changed my plans for it, so hope to have that finished soon as well.  Just need to find a little more time for sewing.

Until then

Pink Ribbon Gifts and Birthday Party

As mentioned in my last post, I finished off my guests pink ribbon gifts .. now I am not going to show you what I made until after the dinner as I know a couple follow my blog, he he

The first photo is a easy one - Pink Ribbon Water Bottles

All I have done is here, is printed out the pink ribbon graphics, and just wrapped it around the bottle. I think it looks effective.

Next is the mystery bag of gifts

I can tell you there are three little gifts inside these cute pink candy striped bags tied off with pink tulle.

All Done ...

Then last weekend, we went to Tumut to celebrate my nephew Thomas's 9th birthday.  I have to tell you after playing a game of soccer with the family, I am absolutely sure I am not as young as I used to be ... boy, I ached the next day, and that is not just because I had football stud marks in my ankles, ouch!

Close-up of the cake, I did not feel at all guilty having a slice with all that fruit on top .. it was delicious.

Until next time

Busy, busy, busy

I have eventually found time to get back and update my blog.  Life at the moment is extremely busy.
My Red Carpet Market Day was extremely successful, not just for myself but for all staff holders, which was fantastic.  It was very well promoted, and I think this is one of the reasons it was so successful.

The annual Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer dinner is coming up, and luckily I have finished the 120 small gifts for all the participants.  Little mystery boxes... I know what is inside, do you?

Now all that is left to make is the little thank you gifts for my table of guests. I have all the supplies ready and I have dedicated this weekend, to getting them all finished.

Do you see that little rotary cutter in the bottom left hand side of the photo.  It is one that I had in my online store, and it is the most fantastic cutter for paper.  It also means that I do not grab my fabric cutter by mistake.

The Pink Ribbon dinner is being held the same weekend that I have a trade table at a Quilt Exhibition in Ganmain, so I will have to be extremely organised to be able to attend both functions.  I will have all the pink ribbon gifts finalised this weekend (fingers crossed) and then spend next week getting product organised for the Quilt Exhibition.

The following weekend, I will be in Tumut, with my nephew celebrating his 9th birthday, they are growing up so quickly, and I adore spending time with them.

Then the next weekend is the Pink Ribbon dinner as well as the Quilt Exhibition, so you can see the reason I have to be organised, and can I also use this as an excuse for not updating my blog?

I know it is not really an excuse, as everyone leads such busy lives, but the time just seems to be moving quicker than normal lately

Have a great weekend

Final - Pink Ribbon Dinner

Our annual Pink Ribbon dinner was held successfully over the last two evenings, a great night with lots of fabulous food, fun and fundraising.  I was even lucky enough to win a massage voucher.

All the pink ribbon gifts were welcomed (and praised) from the guests, and I also received a certificate of thanks.  This will look lovely framed on the wall in the craft studio.

The ladies on my table, loved the little gift bags I put together for them, and they even shared the spare gifts between them at the end of the evening.

Now I have 12 months to think up another idea for "thank you" gifts.

I have not forgotten the orange tic tacs, they are nearly complete and I will be able to share the end results with you very soon.

Pink Ribbon Gifts - 2

Remember I said that I had an idea about using these?

See what they look like now?

I really love how they turned out, quick and easy as well, which is a bonus.

These are the small packets of tic tacs, and I cut my cardstock 2-1/2" x 4-1/2".  Scored at 1/2" and then at 2-1/8".  Then I measured from the opposite end 1-5/8" and scored again.  It ended up looking like this.

The little 1/2" section wrapped around the side of the pack.  I used a 1" circle punch to cut out the hole.  No actual measurements, just lined it up in the middle, and punched.  The snowflake was punched using a Martha Stewart snowflake punch, and then a little rhinestone added to the centre for accent.

Using the same breast cancer printables from Chickabug (see here) I used a glue dot to attach to cover, just overlapping the hole a little bit and ensuring that you catch the ribbon underneath.

Tie the ribbon off in a bow on the side ...

Ten completed - what is next?

Pink Ribbon Gifts - 1

I have started on the individual Pink Ribbon gifts for my guests at the annual Pink Ribbon Dinner.  I usually have a table of 10 and I make up a special little bag of goodies for them.

I continued with the idea of wrapping washi tape around a tea light. (See original post here)   I had some lovely pastel pink tape with snowflakes on it, just ideal.

I could then fit these three tea lights in a little white box.  I used a cardboard separator between each tea light.

Lid closed, with a pink ribbon sticker and tied with a gorgeous pink polka dot ribbon.  Really sweet

I have completed 10 little boxes of tea lights - these are just a few

The stickers came from Chickabug - they have a breast cancer printable for most items.  I just printed them on label paper, and used my scallop punch to cut them out.  Easy.

Now I have an idea to do something with these .....

Hope everyone had a great weekend, come back soon to see the transformation of these lovely little pink tic tacs

New Tissue Cover and Reasons

Well, I found out the reason I was so flat yesterday, I woke this morning with a slight head cold ... bleary eyes and sniffles.  Hope I have caught it before it gets worse!

I made a new tissue cover today, still a work in progress as I think the measurements may need to change slightly.  Not sure if it is practical, but looks OK.

I do not like having to take tissues out of their packaging to insert into this cover.  Health reasons, handling the tissues that someone is going to use!

Opens either end

Closes by pulling buttons through centre opening.

I also finished off more pink ribbon card holder key rings for the fundraising dinner. I love how these are turning out.

I still have the breast cancer drain bags, japanese knot bag and lined travel bag to complete.  It is always good to have things lined up ready to sew, right?

Happy sewing

Pink Ribbon Dinner

All the planning was worth it.  The pink ribbon fabric bon bons that my friend Sonia and I made were filled with goodies and placed on the tables last Friday and Saturday night for our annual Pink Ribbon Fundraising dinner.

They were filled with lots of goodies, most of which were sourced from fellow bloggers.  We just placed a couple of the bon bons on each table,  and the participants shared up the contents at the end of the evening. The feedback was great and we were commended on the detail of each item.

The table that I share with family and friends, always  gets a special treat, so I made them each a individual tissue cover, and wrapped a chocolate bar with a pink ribbon theme cover.

This photo, shows our table with the bon bons as well as the little extra chocolate bars.

We had a great night, and lots of money was raised with various raffles.  Now all I have to do, is think of something different to make for next year, he he.

Pink Ribbon Necklace

Well at long last I have time to update this blog, please forgive me my absence.  Last Friday for our Pink Ribbon Fund Raising dinner I made a couple of "Bead and Knot" Necklaces.  I used this link (Cass Can Sew) for instructions.  These necklaces have been around for a number of years, and I always wanted to make one (or two).  I think they will also make great gifts, not to mention they are so quick and easy to make that you can jazz up an outfit in a matter of moments.

The dark pink one, my sister requested (grabbed) as soon as I arrived ..and the lighter pink one was given to one of the lovely ladies that organises the event.  I think I made them a little too long, but that can be easily fixed, just by taking an extra knot in the end fabric.

A quiet weekend is planned, so hopefully a crafty hour or two will be found
Until next time

Cute find

Sometimes you find the cutest little things ... take these sock coin purses.  How cute are they?  All lined, with a key ring attachment, brand new for just $2.50 each.

You would not be able to make them, for this price ....

I have been making more tissue covers, and have been experimenting with the pattern.  Will share my changes with you in the next couple of days.  We have a tissue cover in each of the fabric bon bons, so I am still on target with getting all these completed this week.

Better ...

The pink ribbon bookmarks look much better now that they are presented on white tags.  The bakers twine idea did not work, however my snowflake Japanese Masking Tape did the trick.

Do you think they look better now?

Small steps

I am taking small steps this week.  I have:

1. Updated my online store with new buttons
2. Printed out some pink ribbon graphics onto Magnetic Paper for little fridge magnets.  I just need to cut them out.  This is very easy with just a pair of paper scissors
3. Finished the pink ribbon bookmarks
4. Finished one more fabric bon bon, however I have another two cut out

Magnets waiting to be cut out

Bookmarks

I think I will change the business cards to just white tags, with pink & white bakers twine ... will change that this evening and post another photo tomorrow

Organised Chaos

I have a busy week planned, with no new craft projects scheduled.  Only four weeks until I have to have all the Pink Ribbon table gifts completed.  Still 10 fabric Bon Bons to sew, and I have started experimenting/putting together the little gifts to place inside the bon bon.  Still needs some work, however a start is good!

The mess ...

Trial run of bon bon gifts, it still needs something, not sure exactly what at the moment?  I have some pink ribbon charms on their way from the USA and I am also going to make some pink ribbon paperclip bookmarks with buttons that are available in store.  Most the the graphics used for the little gifts were either purchased or available free online.

I also received a shipment of buttons from the USA with new Christmas 2011 packs.  These need to be uploaded to the store soon, to enable my customers to start on their Christmas projects.  I found it interesting that the majority of the new packs have pastel themes.  I am a traditional girl(?) when it comes to Christmas, love the reds and greens.

Love the new pack of candy cane buttons (bottom row) - one pack of those will be staying with me, he he

Keep your fingers crossed, that I have a productive week, and that I can complete the pink ribbons gifts.
