Simple Card

Just a simple little Christmas card today, using Washi tape.  I have a lot of washi tape in my supplies and want to find ways to use it.

Look closely at the next photo, can you see a little head snuggled in the blanket.  My pup Cindy will not wear a dog coat, however loves to snuggle up in her blanket.

This was taken in the early hours of the morning when the temperature was very cold.  She does sleep inside but it still gets quite chilly..

Looking forward to spring days

Another two Christmas cards

I have made another two Christmas cards using the Kaisercraft Christmas Jewels paper and collectibles.  I love this mauve colour.

Very simple cards, using a Memory Box Open Studio collage die for the accents.

Till next time.

Kaisercraft - August Collections

I was lucky enough to be able to play with the pre-release Kaisercraft August Papers for their upcoming two new collections.

1. Christmas Jewels - beautiful mauve & silver tones for Christmas
2. Factory 42 - Cogs, Gears - very manly

My sister Sue, a friend Desley, and myself decided to make two cards from each of the collections. Each totally different, but all great as the papers are truly beautiful and make it very easy to create stunning cards.

I will show the results from the Christmas Jewels papers today and then tomorrow the Factory 42 ones.  Warning - lots of photos ...

What a great start to our Christmas cards

Until tomorrow

Christmas Bandana Bibs

A friend posted on Facebook about the bibs she was making for a relative, and I thought what a great idea.

We will have two little ones this year, my great nephew - 22 months old, and my great niece, only 10 months old.

So I pulled out some Christmas fabric and made them each two little bandana bibs.

Nice and festive for Christmas dining for the little ones.

Christmas Crafting

It has been so long since I have used my sewing machine, so it was with great delight that I made my niece a Christmas Reindeer .  This is one of my own patterns and is quick and easy to make and I just love the finished result.

Do you believe I do not even have one of these reindeers in my own Christmas display.  I think every time I make one, someone else wants it.  No more excuses, I must make another. Whether or not it gets done for this year, is another story.

Are you ready for Christmas

Christmas Cards

I have made all my Christmas cards this year, each one unique.  Next year I think I may decide on a theme and make the same card with a lot of different colourways.  Do you make your own cards?

Card 1.  - Using Christmas Sleigh die from Kaisercraft

Card 2 - Using Happy Christmas die from Kaisercraft

Card 3 - Stamped card, using Santa stamp from Verses Stamp Company, and Snowflake stamp from Kaisercraft

Reminder - my online store is closing in just ONE weeks time - if you want a bargain, pop on over and have a look.

Stamps, Kaisercraft Dies, lots of buttons and rusty bells still available

Until next time

I haven't disappeared

Truly, I have not disappeared.  I have just found that posting a quick photo on Facebook is a lot easier than writing a blog post.  I will try and get back to the blog in 2016 but in the meantime, please LIKE me on Facebook .   Cat 'n Cart Crafts Facebook Page

A couple of Pinterest ideas have been shared today ...

Gift for the tea lover -

Recycle an old book to make this adorable angel

Both these ideas have come from Pinterest, but both are ones that I am going to try.

Hope you are busy finishing your Christmas projects, it has certainly come around quickly this year

Enjoy

Muffins and Cupcakes anyone?

Unique little Christmas tree decorations, felt gingerbread muffins and snow cupcakes. The gingerbreads smell so good, they are dusted with spicy snow flurries and dabbed with a little bit of gingerbread oil.

Close-up of each as I was packing them away

Just a few of each, as I like to have a variety of different items for sale on my market table.

Elf Workshop Update

Last Saturday I had a workshop with 6 lovely ladies in Narrandera.  They were making Cat 'n Cart Crafts Christmas Elf.  This is a cute pattern, and the finished project is a nice addition to your Christmas décor.  The following photo shows the finished elves from Rachel & Sharyn

Stages  - they look a little like alien beings here .....

The six finished elves - the girls did such a good job, great variety of colour and personality in each of the elves.

It was a really fun day, and I am pleased to say they have requested another workshop next month.  They want to make the Gingerbread Men from the class in Leeton ... more kits to make.

Keep warm

Christmas In July workshop

I had my first "Christmas In July" workshop today.  It was great fun, with some lovely ladies.

Here are a few photos of the finished gingerbreads, they all did such a good job.

Not too messy?

I was too busy working to take more photos, but everyone was happy with their finished gingers and we finished on time, bonus.

Now to prepare kits for the next workshop, on Saturday, my Christmas Elf

Busy times

Gingerbread Trio

Looking through my blog I came across a set of gingerbreads that I made back in 2011 - see post here

I remembered how cute they were, so I dug out the pattern and started again.

Looking back,  my photography has not improved at all, ha ha.

The first shot was taken in daylight while the latest one was taken inside with a flash .

I wish I was looking at the original photo when I made the second set, even though it is 4 years apart, I used practically the same checked fabrics.  The felt was darker this time around, and cinnamon was rubbed into the felt, but other than that, very similar.

Closeups of each of the gingers following

Still very cute and yummy

Ginger and reindeer

It is never to early to start crafting for Christmas, right?

Felt gingerbread man with wreath and little reindeer

I love making gingerbread men, you can make them smell delicious.. this one has cinnamon rubbed into the felt as well as a little dash of gingerbread scented oil, yum!

I think the reindeer at his side, just balances the gingerbread man off.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas.  Enjoy your Christmas with family and friends, take time out for yourself and I look forward to sharing new crafts and adventures with you in 2015

The above clip art is the nice vintage Santa, now the next photo is the handmade Santa lounging on the church pew on the front verandah of my family home..  every day I see him, someone has changed his position.

Felt Elf Wine Bottle Topper

Make a elf wine bottle topper, completely removable

A rectangle of felt, wrapped around the top of the bottle and then hand sewn into place.  Sew a piece of fake fur to the inside of the hat for his bead, and then glue on a wooden ball for the nose.  Simple

This idea was found on Pinterest, what an amazing site that is?

Swedish Woven Heart Decoration

These felt woven hearts were made, after watching a video by the Missouri Star Quilt Co.   They used wool, but for my first attempt I just used some felt pieces.

Very simple to make, with good instructions.  I put a little eyelet in the top of each side so that a ribbon could be threaded through for ease of opening.

They are very roomy inside and you can make them whatever size you like

Not sure what I will be filling them with, but I like the idea of using this red and white one as a bag on a Santa.  Filled with greenery, pipberry and a couple of toys.  Slung over his shoulder, I think it would work?

They could be hung on the Christmas Tree, filled with Candy Canes etc, or even just given as a gift with a gift card inside, many ideas for uses

Another one in a soft green and cream

While I have the felt out, I will be trying another Pinterest idea, stay tuned

Pine Cone Angels

Well, I think this will be my last pine cone craft for this year, Pine Cone Angels.  They will look so cute hanging on the Christmas Tree.  I originally saw this idea on Pinterest.

Silver Angel

Gold Angel

All you need to do, is thread a chenille stick around the body for a little colour, wind another one around the head, making a loop for a hanger/halo.  Ribbon bow for wings, done! Lovely!

What next?
