Christmas Bandana Bibs

A friend posted on Facebook about the bibs she was making for a relative, and I thought what a great idea.

We will have two little ones this year, my great nephew - 22 months old, and my great niece, only 10 months old.

So I pulled out some Christmas fabric and made them each two little bandana bibs.

Nice and festive for Christmas dining for the little ones.

Christmas Crafting

It has been so long since I have used my sewing machine, so it was with great delight that I made my niece a Christmas Reindeer .  This is one of my own patterns and is quick and easy to make and I just love the finished result.

Do you believe I do not even have one of these reindeers in my own Christmas display.  I think every time I make one, someone else wants it.  No more excuses, I must make another. Whether or not it gets done for this year, is another story.

Are you ready for Christmas

Birthday Card

One of my nieces had a birthday yesterday, and this is the card that I made for her.  It uses the Memory Box Grand Happy Birthday Die and "The Mice Girls" buttons from "Dress It Up"

The little mice were just right for her as she has her own pet mice, here is a photo of one of them.  So much cuter than the horrible household mice.

Cindy, my little 10 month old pup with her pain relief bandage.  She is recovering well.

Incredible to think there is only 9 days until Christmas, I have so much I want to do before then.  Fingers crossed all the little projects will get completed in time.

Are you organised, or are you like me, and leave things until the last moment?

Christmas Cards

I have made all my Christmas cards this year, each one unique.  Next year I think I may decide on a theme and make the same card with a lot of different colourways.  Do you make your own cards?

Card 1.  - Using Christmas Sleigh die from Kaisercraft

Card 2 - Using Happy Christmas die from Kaisercraft

Card 3 - Stamped card, using Santa stamp from Verses Stamp Company, and Snowflake stamp from Kaisercraft

Reminder - my online store is closing in just ONE weeks time - if you want a bargain, pop on over and have a look.

Stamps, Kaisercraft Dies, lots of buttons and rusty bells still available

Until next time

I'm Back!

I cannot believe how neglected my blog has become.  I am so sorry, I am trying to think of excuses, but I really do not have a valid one ....:)

Lots of changes in my life, my pup is growing however not without a few issues.  She has been suffering from Pancreatitis which is taking her a long time to recover from.  Special diet, and lots of love and patience.

She was well enough to have her first Santa photo taken, so cute (but then I am biased)

My crafting has consisted of card making, I have made a lot of Christmas cards, but did not take any photos, dash.  However I have made some Birthday cards with a lovely "Happy Birthday" die that my sister gave me for my birthday.  It makes quick and easy cards.

Hopefully 2017 will be a great year for crafting.  I am closing my online store in another 2 weeks, after 15 years of trading and once I have settled down after Christmas I hope to get into some serious sewing.

If I still have any blog followers, thank you for staying with me during my long absences

Till next time

My Excuse

This cute little pup is the reason there has been no posting on my blog in recent months.
A new addition to the family ...  Cindy

She is a toy poodle, with a little Shih Tzu  and Maltese added .  I got her when she was only six weeks old and she is now 18 weeks old.  Lots of fun, but I had forgotten how much work a pup requires, but she is certainly worth it.

Things are starting to settle into a routine now, so hopefully I can get back to my crafting.  Although she will not be allowed into my craft studio until I have cleaned up and put everything out of reach.

Have a great day

Birthday Card

I can show this card now, I made it for my sisters birthday . Magnolia Lane papers and embellishments were used. Another 'pretty' card, so unlike my usual style.  I love the lace behind the embellishments, it seemed to really suit the layout

I want to make some more Christmas cards, so that I have them ready when December rolls around.  The way this year is speeding by, it will be here before we know it.  Do you plan this far ahead for Christmas?

I love this next graphic from Heartfelt Creations ... I can really relate to it!  I can only imagine what is hiding in my craft room.

Enjoy your day

Christmas Cards - What?

It is never to early to start making your Christmas cards! I have fussy cut the picture from a 'bought' card to enhance this one. I have stamped the background many times with a Snowflake stamp from Darkroom Door.   To be honest I think the card looks better in real life than the photo depicts, but I may be a little biased.

From Darkroom Door : Being creative is not a hobby, it's a way of life. One of their new Quote Stamps over a Distress Ink background! Who agrees?

Enjoy

'Thinking of You' card

A pretty little card this morning - I like this sentiment as it can be used for many occasions.

Nice soft colours, and with the floral paper from Magnolia Lane on the bottom it is very soft and feminine.  I am really liking this new card making craft although I must admit it is at the expense of my sewing machine.  I have had some little tea wallets sitting on my sewing table, all cut out ready to go for at least two weeks now.  I WILL finish them this week!

The following quote was found on Facebook, what do you think?  I must admit, I like everything mentioned (smiles)

Till next time

Wild storms

Well, all my plans to get my craft room tidied up went out the window, when we had a wild wind storm late Saturday afternoon.  It only lasted about 10 minutes but it did a heap of damage.  Not just at my home but to a lot of other houses in town.  Trees down, power lines down, some still have not had power restored after 48 hours ...

I had larges branches fall on my clothes line, and in the front garden.

Some of the branches pulled off the garden

One big limb fell across the front garden

What was left of the tree after it had crashed onto the clothes line.  Notice how bent out of shape the clothes line is now?

I was lucky that a tree lopping company was visiting a neighbour across the road for a routine cleanup, so I asked if they could assist and remove all the debris.  They did, lucky for me.

My damage was tiny compared to a lot of other houses, so I am extremely grateful

Take care
Judy

Second little girl card

I had my 'test' coloured in girl from my previous card sitting on my table and decided it to use it on another card. I fussy cut the stamped image out and popped it up on this card.
I am happy with the result, and I also got to use some of my buttons

I hot glued the buttons on the card to ensure that they would not fall off.

Bandana Bibs

Well, I did get some sewing completed yesterday - more bandanna bibs for this cool dude. My niece's son Finn. He is wearing one that I made when they came for a visit last month.

I have just used some basic "boy" type fabric from my stash, although next month I will look for some more trendy pieces of fabric.  I just need to sort through ALL my fabric a bit better.

The next job on my list is to make up 10 Elf kits for a workshop to be held at the end of April.  If I start now, I might be ready by then! ha ha.

Till next time

Early morning card making

I seem to make some of my better cards at 4:00 am when I cannot sleep.  This card is based on a tutorial in the 'quick cards' magazine. I used Momento markers to colour in.

I love the soft pastel colours in this card.  Now I hope I can stay awake enough to do a little sewing later today

Wetlands Cards

It is hard to make cards with a injured thumb on your dominate hand. Nail accidentally ripped off, ouch!
One stamp, Wetlands by Stampin-up, four different cards

Card making is fun, and quick and easy

Loving this new craft of mine

Card techniques

Using Pinterest as inspiration, I tried 2 different techniques on these cards.

The first one, was just sponged, choosing different colour inks.  The goose stamp is from Stampin Up Wetlands set.  Happy how this turned out

The next one used the brayer technique, the moon is an unusual colour, as I decided to add it AFTER I had finished the sky (I will know better, next time).  I love the pink and blue together.

Take care
