Rusty Bed-Spring Snowman

I love how this snowman turned out.

Using only a rusty bed-spring, a polystyrene ball, clay nose, scrap of fabric and three little buttons, this snowman was created.  Even though our Christmas is celebrated at the hottest time of the year, I still love snowmen.  They have such a personality.  So this is another one to add to my collection.

Rusty Barbed Fencing Wire

I visited a friend's farm a couple of weeks ago, and came home with a few rolls of old rusty barbed fencing wire as well as some farm bits and pieces.

This wire has been transformed into a heart and wreath for my garden, I must admit after many scratches later, however I am extremely pleased with the end results.

On the wreath I have cut out a flower shape from rusty tin, and joined it together with a "look-alike" button in the centre.

I have also placed some "picks" around the outside - these picks were/are used to cultivate the soil.

This was a great recycling project and I have many more ideas on how to utilise this wire

Aussie Chocolate Wagon

My sister Sue wanted to know how to make the Chocolate Sleigh that I made before Christmas.
I had a few little pieces of chocolate left over from Christmas that we could use.

This is the result

We got talking, and decided that we should be able to use the same principle for other occasions.  Who doesn't like chocolate?

We have Australia Day coming up soon, so we decided to use that as our theme.

Using the following items from my online store:
Rusty Tin Wagon

                            
Aussie Slang Stickers

                                                      

Then added:
Chocolates
String and Raffia
Kangeroo Key Ring

We finished up with a fun rusty wagon filled with chocolates, with the Aussie Slang stickers on the side being pulled by a little fluffy kangeroo.  Very Australian . I loved the end result, what do you think?

 

Now l have to make another one, as my sister took this one home with her, she loved it so much!!

Do you have any ideas of how else we could make use of the chocolate sleigh idea?

Rusty Tin Tags

Continuing on with the tag theme from last week - these are some rusty tags that I made last year, which I forgot to share with you.

 

These were simply made by cutting a tag shape from a sheet of rusty tin - this tin sheet can be cut easily with scissors. 

 

 

 

Then a vintage Christmas ticket graphic glued on.

 

 

 

 

The beautiful vintage Christmas tickets are a free download from "misscutiepieinspiration.blogspot.com" .  This site is in Swedish but you can use Google Translate to translate it to English. There is a link to the translator on the left hand side of her blog. 

 

 

 

These tags are so cute - you can use them simply on a brown paper gift bag.

 

 

 

Remember to file down the side edges of the tag with a little sandpaper, as it can be a little sharp and you do not want anyone to get hurt.  I just used jute as the tie, but I think this year if I make some more, I would use bakers twine.

 

From one sheet of tin ($3.00) I could get 12 rusty tags - this is great value for money.
