Sympathy Cards

Two entirely different styles of sympathy cards today.  Unfortunately these cards are quite often needed.

Wanted to try a white on white card, very simple

This next card was inspired by a fellow cardmaker - black and white

The weather is getting cooler, so you may see more crafting soon

No crafting at the moment

I haven't been in my craft room for days.  We have been having warm Autumn days, so I have been making the most of the beautiful sunshine out in the garden.  I have planted some pansies, so hope to have some lovely colour in Spring.

I saw this beautiful image on Pinterest.  A great use of the many buttons in my stash.

Papercraft gift handbags

A little different paper crafting today.  I made these cute little handbags, for table gifts.  They could include a tea light candle, chocolate or small gift.  Just a 6” square of paper for the bag section. 💕

Love the colours in this one, with a little pink ribbon necklace as a gift

First one I made, with a decorated tea light candle.

I have finished four of these handbags and need to make another 8 for our Pink Ribbon table gifts. Like everything, deciding what paper to use, takes the longest time....

Link to the tutorial I followed, can be found here

Hope you have had a great weekend

Art Squared cards

As mentioned yesterday, I had a friend visit and we played with the art squared stamp technique.  I finished three cards, all entirely different.
The first one, I used Kaleidacolor Birthstone inks - more vibrant colour than oxide the inks.

The next card used a combination of blue distress oxide inks.  The dark blue overpowered this card too much, I feel.

The last card I decided to change the orientation to landscape- used nice bright distress oxide colours.  Can’t quite remember the colour combination, and used a 60s themed stamp set.  I think this is my favourite of the three cards.

The weather has been beautiful during the days, so I have been spending lots of time outside in the garden.  I think I like Autumn the best.

Hope you are having a great day

On my desk

Today I have a crafting friend visiting, and I am going to show her how to make the square art card. I have one cut and stamped ready to assemble, as well as two other cards in the planning stage.
Looking forward to a great day.

The template for cutting up the background has been printed as well, I think I am organised. Hopefully I will have some finished cards to show you tomorrow.

Saxophone Player card

This was a very simple card to make, just used two dies.  One of the saxaphone player, dog and lamp and the second the birthday greeting notes.  I like how it came together, although the hardest part was choosing the background paper.  I wanted to use bricks, but the colours were all wrong, so I ended up with this wood theme.  I think it works ok.

I have a friend coming to craft with me tomorrow, so I had better clean up my craft room today to make space for her.  If really is quite a mess....

Stamped Birthday Card

A friend shared a YouTube tutorial on how to use more of your stamps in cardmaking.  See link here
I decided to try it using supplies I had on hand, not what was mentioned in the tutorial but it still worked out great.

Supplies used, glossy photo paper, distress oxide inks for background, momento tuxedo black ink for stamping and free vintage stamp set from a magazine.  (Creative Stamping Magazine, Issue 67)

I think I will challenge myself to make more of these cards, so I can get better use of my stamps.

Now I am off to do some gardening while the sun is shining and before it gets too cold.

Enjoy your day

Winter is coming

The weather is getting colder, reminding us that Winter is fast approaching. Although I don't like the cold, it is ideal for crafting.

My garden is still giving a good showing of colour, especially the Salvias, which I love.  The camellia shrubs have started flowering and the pink colour is so soft and delicate.

Two very different cards

A very feminine vintage style card - a little bit of everything on this card.  Lace, tulle, metal embellishments and flowers

The second card, I played with blending my oxide inks, sprintzed with water and layered a Paper Rose Kangaroo mob die cut on top.  The sentiment  was heat embossed

I love the colours in this card.  The Autumn weather has turned cold, so I hope to get a couple more cards completed over the weekend.

Another boy card

i like how this card turned out.  Used Stampin Up grunge stamps for background, and a Crafts 4 U mountain bike die for the feature element.  Simple, but effective.

I have one more boy card to make, I think I will do a fishing theme for that one.

Two cute teddy bear cards

I love these teddy bear dies, they make great cards

This first one for a new baby

This card was made for a little girl.

The die pieces can be a little fiddly to assemble, but I think they are worth the effort.

The next few days, I am going to start and re-organise my die storage, so I might find something new to play with.

Hope you have a great crafting day

Card for a teenage boy

This card was a challenge, a teenager’s card.  I used Darkroom Door skateboard stamp as my focal point and Kaisercraft Attitude papers and stickers to finish it off.  I hope he likes it.

I had better check my birthday list to see who is next

Testing new cutting die

I received this beautiful feather and bird die today and couldn't wait to try it.  It cut beautifully on a inked background that was on my desk waiting to be used.  I inlaid the birds with black cardstock to make them "pop" a little.  Not bad for a test run, but I think this will be wonderful in soft pastel/neutral tones.

Hope you have time to craft today, enjoy

Floating 80th birthday card

This is one of my "go to" card techniques when I need a special card in a hurry.  Using my large letter alphabet dies, I cut out each letters at least 3 times, for stability.  The card front is cut leaving a gap in the middle, to allow the letters to join the card back together again.

Photo shows the card closed

This photo shows the card open, and you can see how the letters seem to float.

Male cards

I am always running short on cards for the male members of my family, so last weekend I completed three.  Need a lot more, but at least I have started.

Two cards have been made using Kaisercraft Factory 42 papers and collectibles.

And the last card used Kaisercraft Mountain Air paper and collectibles.

I have had a request to make a 80th birthday card with a fishing theme, fingers crossed I can get it done this weekend.  With the Easter and school holidays it has been a busy time, and very little time to craft.

They seem to fly so  low

Children’s Easter Craft

I help out st our local Op Shop during the school holidays with craft lessons
Next Tuesday I have 5-10 year olds and we will be making these cute cotton ball cards.
Aren’t they adorable

The idea for these cards came from Pinterest.

Hope the children have fun making them
